Standards

Performance-based standards (content and developmental) were adopted in the late 1990s by the State of Indiana to guide initial professional preparation of teachers, school services personnel, and administrators. These standards are based on the Interstate New Teacher Assessment and Support Consortium (INTASC) principles, standards of learned societies and accreditation agencies, and statewide task forces.

Purdue University teacher education programs align to these state standards as well as adhere to institutional and professional standards.
