Professional Development
Several services are provided for P-12 educators who wish to participate in professional development (PD) opportunities via Purdue University continuing education courses required for the completion of one or more licensure area(s) to be added to an existing educator license or to obtain a higher degree (Master’s, Ed.S. and/or Ph.D.).
Continuing education courses and workshops/conferences/institutes, as well as serving as a cooperating teacher for Purdue pre-service teachers, administrators, and school service personnel completing early field experiences and/or student teaching/internships are listed as PD options on the Professional Growth Plan (PGP) Experience Documentation Chart for accumulation of the 90-PGP points required for the renewal of a 5-year or 10-year instructional, administrative, or school services license. These PD options can also be used to support school improvement and accountability initiatives set forth in Public Law (PL) 221, Senate Enrolled Act (SEA) 1, and other local, state, and federal mandates.
