Transition to Teaching
Do you already have a college degree? Would like to enter the field of education?
Transition to Teaching is designed for "career changers" whose goal is to become licensed to teach in Indiana middle, junior high, and high schools. This program provides preparation for those entering teaching as a new career. In 18 or 24 credit hours (depending on your particular program choice), you will learn about teaching methodology, theory-into-practice experiences and a student teaching internship.
As a degree holder you already have the content knowledge and skills. This program will prepare you for teaching by adding education coursework.
You need to meet standards and admission requirements prior to acceptance into the program. Once you have completed the program you will also need to meet Indiana standards for licensing.
